I had fun experiencing and then writing about Outstanding in the Field (OITF), a traveling farm-to-table road show that crisscrosses the country showcasing the unappreciated art of family farming and its tremendous gifts.  In the July edition of Charlotte Magazine, you can read all about it.

So, what happens when you bring together a hunky evangelist for eating local, an old bus, piglets, a farm, and 100 new friends?  An evening to remember

After two years, 365 Nights – A Memoir of Intimacy still has legs.  I am fascinated and so thankful!

This is a link to the first part of a two-part interview I did with Amy Freese of Designher Living on WSRadio.com.

Amy Freese is a  life coach and speaker who works with people to design a custom-fit-life.  The first part of the interview talks about the creation of the book.  The second part talks about how I received Brad’s blessing to do the book, the many of the challenges women tackle in marriage and life and a few life lessons I learned along the way.

What a great time!  It was so much fun working with Colleen Odegaard and the crew on Charlotte Today.

Here’s the video of my cooking segment.  Bon appetit!

I can’t believe it, but I have a five-minute dream job tomorrow. In a fit of culinary insanity I agreed to do a cooking segment with my favorite television personality, Colleen, on Charlotte Today!  It airs LIVE tomorrow on WCNC (NBC) at 11, right after the third hour of the Today Show. I follow Kathie Lee and Hodtja – so things can only look up, right?  You can watch streaming video at http://www.wcnc.com/charlotte-today.  That cute apron was a gift from my FAB sister-in-law.

If ever there was a dream job for me, a talk show or cooking show hostess would be it.  This Thursday I get to live my dream job for a few minutes on Charlotte Today.  I will be a guest on Charlotte’s newest daytime show hosted by Colleen Odegaard

I’ll be cooking  up a meal for a Sunday night family dinner.  I’m doing a Pan-Seared Flank Steak with Roasted Asparagus and Potatoes.  These are all go-to recipes from Sunday Night Family Dinner – they’re easy, won’t break the bank and kids AND adults love ‘em.  Remember, I’m feeding four adults and five kids (ages 2 – 10) on Sunday nights, so I need to be able to stretch a menu and a dollar.  Also, ALL of these recipes will translate to a grill – great for Spring.   So, if you can, tune in or set your DVR for 11:00am this Thursday (April 15).

I arrived yesterday in Nashville to speak at the Southern Women’s show.  What a great time!  This morning there was a ‘Coffee and Conversation’ networking event with Nashville’s Female Movers & Shakers and I was so honored to be the guest speaker.  What a great morning!  I’m off to a luncheon and then I speak again later this afternoon.

If you’re in the Nashville area, I encourage you to come and see all the wonderful exhibits, check out the celebrities such as  Jonathan Kayne from Bravo’s hit TV show Project Runway, Sue Whitney, the original JUNKMASTER, who has made numerous appearances on the Today Show and HGTV’s Country Style, and is the co-author of Junk Beautiful and many more celebrities and shows.

I’m getting ready for the Southern Women’s Show in Nashville, TN this weekend.  I am honored to be a part of    such a wonderful event.  Go to the Southern Women’s Show in Nashville to learn about all the great exhibits  and events.   I’ll be speaking each day of the show, which runs Thursday through Sunday.  Such fun!

Hey All!  My friend and local indy book store owner, Jonathan Sanchez, is on Jeopardy tonight (Monday March 22).   You can learn about the taping – without spoiling anything – at beingsanchez.com/news.  Jonathan owns Blue Bicycle Books in Charleston, but hails from Charlotte (he’s a Catholic High School grad, I think).  He and his wife, Lauren, are really great (and obviously tres smart), so tune in and cheer on a fellow Southerner!  Glad to know someone else is holding up nicely under the bright spotlights of national television…

Thankfully, Blake and I have come a long way since our karaoke-style home
video of  “You Be Illin’.”  Check out Blake’s new daily radio show, “Local
Edge Radio”
on 880 am with co-host Lesley Groetsch.

A much delayed photo of Katherine Snow Smith and me at the launch of her new magazine in   Tampa/St. Pete.  MommaZine features articles and news for the moms like us. LOVE the tagline “This is not your mother’s magazine.”  This brings me great relief as I furtively purchased a Good Housekeeping at the grocery store last week (and read it).  That is definitely my mother’s magazine, not good news.

Katherine is a friend and a relative – don’t you notice the stunning resemblance?  Check it out and share with your friends in Tampa and St. Pete. www.mommazine.com.  Also, there is a cute blogger who attended the book launch called Running Better.

Check out her blog at http://runningbetty.com/tag/mommazine.
